The tramp personifies in us the wanderer, the freedom lover.
In dreams he will often appear at a time when we need freedom, but can also show that that need can bring difficulty and sadness. He can also appear in dreams as the jester or fool.
There is a part in all of us that is anarchical, and the tramp represents this aspect.
